Anindya Roy
I [Anindya Roy] am a writer and illustrator, who looks for inventive ways to merge storytelling and other technologies to create illustration-based art. I have written many short stories in the text and comic format.
I started an International comic festival called Delhi Comic Arts Festival DeCAF in New Delhi.
The publishing house, Phantomville was established by me, exclusively to publish comics/graphic novels in India. Two of its titles, Kashmir Pending and The Believers, were the first amongst Indian graphic novels to be published in Europe. Phantomville was awarded the Best Young Publisher award by the British Council in 2008. Kashmir Pending has been part of the curriculum at Stony Brook University in New York. When Kulbhushan Met Stockli, India’s first international collaborative comics anthology between India and Switzerland was conceived and edited by me and was published by HarperCollins Publishers India.

I have been the recipient of residencies and grants from the British Council, the Alliance Francaise, the Swiss Arts Council, Pro Helvetia, the India Foundation for the Arts, National Foundation of India, I have also made documentary films early on in my career.
